#  PHOENIX RISING IS HERE!

### New music, exciting milestones, and a whole lot of rock ’n’ roll!

Hello, music lovers! Wow! Life has been an absolute whirlwind ever since Atlanta, and I have SO much to share with you!

##  Nashville Memories & A Heartfelt Goodbye to Dolly as well as Sass Jordan

My partner, Kevin Frey, and I travelled to Nashville and had a wonderful time soaking up the music, the atmosphere, and everything that makes Music City so special.

Sadly, during our time there, we learned of the passing of one of my all-time idols, the legendary Dolly Parton. It was surreal seeing her face everywhere throughout Nashville, knowing what had happened. We even visited her star on the Country Music Walk of Fame. The sky was crying that day, and honestly, it felt as though we all were. Dolly was so much more than a country music icon. She was an extraordinary songwriter, a trailblazer, and an inspiration to generations of artists.

I was also saddened to hear of the passing of another one of my favorite singers - Canadian rock singer Sass Jordan. I saw her in concert at the Dow Centennial Centre in Fort Saskatchewan as well as at an intimate fundraiser many years before Covid. She performed at Cornstock 2026 on Friday back in July 2026; I performed with Brigade Heart Tribute band the very next day. It's hard to believe she's gone. I perform a number of this amazing lady's music. Her music and legacy will live on forever!

##  GOLD! I'm an International Award-Winning Songwriter! So grateful!

On a much happier note, if you didn't already hear, I am incredibly honoured to announce that I won GOLD at the 2026 International Singer Songwriter Association (ISSA) Awards for International Female Songwriter of the Year! The awards were held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and we had a blast.

Songwriting has become such a deeply personal part of my musical journey, and to have my work recognized internationally is something I will never take for granted. It is an incredible honor, and I hope my songs will help others going through the same things that I’ve written about.

Thank you to everyone who listens, streams, shares, supports, and believes in my music. You are part of this journey, too, and I am so grateful to have you along for the ride!

##  THE WAIT IS OVER… MY NEW ALBUM IS HERE!

I am beyond excited to finally share my new rock album, PHOENIX RISING! It debuted at #13 on the iTunes Alternative Albums Chart!

This album represents resilience, transformation, finding your voice, and discovering the strength to rise again after life's toughest battles. Every song has a story, and this collection is one of the most personal and meaningful bodies of work I have ever created.

The phoenix has become a symbol of my own journey: rising from the ashes, reclaiming your power, and realizing that your hardest chapters don't have to define your future.

And now, I get to share that journey with all of you!

LISTEN TO PHOENIX RISING ON SPOTIFY ... or any of the streaming platforms!

My album is officially out!!! Put on your headphones, turn up the volume, and join me on this journey. Listen to the full album here on Spotify!

If you enjoy it, please save my "Phoenix Rising" album to your library, share it with your friends, and add your favourite songs to your playlists. Every listen and share helps an independent artist like me reach new audiences. Thank you for being part of this journey!

###  The Musicians Behind the Music

I am incredibly grateful to the talented musicians and creative team who helped bring this rock record to life:

- Kevin Frey — Rhythm guitar and songwriting collaborator

- Alan Tymofichuk — Lead guitar

- Jeff Godley — Bass

- Dennis Boisvert — Drums

-Darcy Phillips - Keyboards on "In My Silent Hell" and "Never Ever Forget"

- Myself - Dahlia Wakefield -Lead and backing vocals, some shaker & synth when needed ;)

- Sandro Dominelli — Producer, recording, mixing and mastering at Dominelli Studios

- Special guests: The Dirt Road Angels (Danita Lynn, Shila Fagnan & Karen Claypool) on the song “Angels in the Alley”

These incredible musicians helped bring the songs to life with real guitars, powerful drums, and the energy that makes rock music so special. No AI. Special thanks to Jill Thomson and Jade Rooney for being co-writers on a couple songs. Thank you for being part of this chapter!

###  CDs, VINYL & A SPECIAL WAY TO GIVE BACK

A limited run of CDs and vinyl records has also been manufactured!

Vinyl lovers, I have a waitlist for those who would like a copy. Simply reply to this email and let me know you'd like to be added to the vinyl waitlist. I'll be in touch with more details!

There's also a special purpose behind this album. A portion of the proceeds will go to WIN House, an Edmonton organization that supports women fleeing domestic violence. I recently got to meet Faye, who works at the WIN House.

Music has the power to tell our stories, help us heal, and remind us that we are not alone. If this album can help someone find their strength or take a step toward a safer future, then it means even more to me.

##  HAVE YOU HEARD MY LATEST SINGLE, “BUT NO MORE”?

Released September 18, “But No More” is a raw, unapologetic rock anthem about reaching that moment when enough is enough, drawing a line in the sand, and choosing yourself.

No more fear. No more silence. But no more!

This song is especially close to my heart, and I hope it reminds anyone who needs to hear it that their voice matters, their happiness matters, and they deserve to live a life where they can feel safe and free.

## RECENT PODCASTS

Thank you to everyone who has been writing about, sharing, and supporting my music. Independent artists rely on people spreading the word, and I appreciate every bit of it!

##  BACK TO TEACHING!

Alongside all the music madness, I'm also back doing something I love: teaching!

You can find me at:

KPA School of Music in Stony Plain — Mondays

Visionary Centre for the Performing Arts in St. Albert — Wednesdays

Helping students of all ages discover their voices, build confidence, and develop their musical abilities is incredibly rewarding. Music continues to bring so much joy into my life, both onstage and in the classroom! I also enjoy singing to seniors at many retirement homes. Music heals!

##  SO FAR, SO GOOD… LIFE IS GOOD!

Between the awards, Nashville, new music, the release of my album Phoenix Rising, teaching, and everything else life has thrown my way, it's certainly been a whirlwind!

I'm grateful for the opportunities, the lessons, the people who stand beside me, and the music that keeps me moving forward.

Thank you for being here, for listening, for sharing my songs, and for supporting an independent Canadian artist who is still chasing dreams and making a whole lot of noise!

I hope to see you at my album release party on November 14. Until then, keep streaming, keep sharing, and keep that fire burning.

Keep rising. Keep rocking. And remember: it's never too late to rise from the ashes and become who you're meant to be.

With love and rock ’n’ roll,

Dahlia :)

xoxo
